Working All Things for Good
Alejandro Olivares came to live with us at the end of 2009, when he was just shy of his second birthday. He recently turned eighteen years old, which was a milestone he was looking forward to very much! For almost seventeen years, and as long as he can remember, he has lived here in the children's home; helping with daily tasks such as tending to the animals, milking the cows, and helping to maintain the property. During his early teens, he dedicated his life to God, was baptized, and is now a member of the church here in Tecate, Baja California, Mexico. Like any other young person, he has faced struggles in his life, but with God's help and the support of faithful brothers, he has remained steadfast in his desire to serve God.
A few months ago, he moved in with a couple from the church to receive closer support and guidance and to become part of a family. He is currently continuing his studies, finishing his last year of high school. He also enjoys helping his friends with the work at the Tecate Sheds cabin shop, as well as with other projects going on in the community.
He is a young man with great potential for the Kingdom of God. Please keep him in your prayers so that he may resist the devil, live in a manner that glorifies the Lord, and used as an instrument in God's hands.
Shining Light Children’s Home thanks everyone who has been a part of Alejandro’s life, whether directly or indirectly. Without your support, this story would be impossible, and we are grateful that you are part of his testimony.
