Church House Project

The Church House Project is well under way. Over the past couple weeks, much work has taken place from obtaining and finalizing permits to beginning the manual, physical labor.

First, the ditches for the foundation were dug and plumbing was completed. Next, the concrete forms were installed and leveled. By evening, the entire pad was prepared and ready to be poured. Around 6:30am, on Saturday, February 14, the first concrete truck arrived. Most of the men and boys, from our community, were there helping.

In fact, everyone chipped in at some point throughout the day, and it was much appreciated since each person has different gifts, talents, and abilities. The ladies brought doughnuts and coffee at midmorning, followed by a very hearty lunch at noon, and more snacks during the afternoon. These tasty treats were well-received by all and fueled the workers to continue their projects.

The last delivery of concrete arrived later in the afternoon. The concrete did not have adequate time to cure before the sun dipped lower in the sky and the temperatures dropped. A few brave souls worked well into the night, troweling and finishing the final touches.

This marks the first part of the first stage of our new church house/school project. On this first floor, there will be bathrooms, a gym/fellowship hall, a kitchen, and a couple classrooms. The next step in this project will be the auditorium floor, before beginning the building construction.
