A Beach Day Away
Youth leader, Ralph Swartzentruber organized a beach day for the entire youth group on Saturday, November 8th. Around 9:00 AM, everyone piled into multiple vehicles to begin the 2-hour trek to Rosarito. Several of the young married couples were able to join, as well, making it a nice-sized group. To lighten the load, the ladies worked together to prepare food to take along for lunches and snacks.
Fun activities began right away, as many enjoyed playing games like volleyball and spike ball. The children also enjoyed playing on the beach, making sandcastles and digging holes. Even some adults joined in on the exciting activities. After several hours, it was time to load the vans and cars to start heading home.
Before long, hunger set in and the group stopped for dinner at various restaurants so each carload of people could choose exactly what sounded best to their growling stomachs. Everyone was back home soon after 9:00 PM with full bellies, tired bodies, and happy memories of fellowship with friends and mentors. All in all, it was an extremely rewarding, fun-packed day.
