BRINGING CHILDREN IN TECATE, MEXICO

THE LIGHT OF LIFE.

BOY'S HOME PROJECT

Currently, we are in the process of building an all new Boy's home.  We have felt the need for some time to separate the living quarters for the young boys.  We believe this effort will advance the vision we have of providing a better family environment for the boys.  We are looking to raise around $90,000 to complete this home.  We hope that you will see a need in your heart to partner with us and help contribute towards this exciting new venture.

This is a question I often ask myself when faced with meaningful decisions. It greatly impacts the response or answers we give when we think long-term. Fourteen generations is a long time; however, eternity…

Beauty in the Midst of the Ordinary

By Ruth Domenica Smith My service at Shining Light Children’s Home began in the fall of 2019 when I served as a caregiver for four girls. I quickly fell in love with the children, Spanish language, and Mexican culture. After several months, I transitioned to work as a kitchen manager due to some changing circumstances.…

Shining Light Memories

Written by Alfredo Beltran Segura I came to Shining Light in July 2008, when I was 4 years old. I have one younger brother, Angel Gabriel, and an older sister, Kiara. I remember that Greivin, the administrator, picked us up at the DIF office and brought us to the children’s home. This is my earliest…

Give Until it Hurts

My name is Amy Schrock. I am from Kansas and I currently serve as a child caregiver at SLCH. How did I end up here? As a teen, I had always been interested in SLCH and I felt led to serve there. I did not have any connection with anyone who knew anything of this…
